    Next Quarterly Meeting of PRFC to be Held on March 6, 2015

    The PRFC announced today that the next full meeting of the Potomac River Fisheries Commission will meet on Friday, December 5th, 2014 at 9:00 AM at PRFC headquarters, located at 222 Taylor Street, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

    PRFC Oyster/Clam Advisory Committee to Meet February 25, 2015

    The PRFC announced today that the next meeting of the PRFC Oyster/Clam Advisory Committee will meet on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 6 PM at PRFC headquarters, located at 222 Taylor Street, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The agenda includes a discussion of management of the Jones Shore Oyster Bar, the Oyster Managed Reserve Program, and a recommendation for the 2015 rotational oyster seed planting.

    PRFC Blue Crab Advisory Committee to Meet February 19, 2015

    The PRFC announced today that the next meeting of the PRFC Blue Crab Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 6 PM at PRFC headquarters, located at 222 Taylor Street, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The agenda includes a discussion of the options to reduce fishing mortality on female crabs by 1.9% by June 30, 2015; minimum size limits for hard crabs, and Blue crab research.

    PRFC Finfish Advisory Committee to Meet October 7, 2014

    The PRFC announced today that the next meeting of the Potomac River Fisheries Commission will meet on Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 at 6 PM at PRFC headquarters, located at 222 Taylor Street, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The agenda includes a discussion of the options in the document Addendum IV to Amendment VI of the Interstate Fishery Manangement Plan for Atlantic Striped bass. The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) will be voting on options included in this document at its upcoming meeting on October 29th. PRFC will be asking the Finfish AC to provide http://www.asmfc.org/uploads/file/53f3d2dapr29StripedBassDraftAddIV_PublicHearings.pdfpreferences on options in the document.     There will also be a discussion regarding the tidal largemouth bass sport fishery in the Potomac and upcoming discussions at the Commission in December.

The Potomac River Fisheries Commission coordinates regulations with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, (DGIF) and with the other Atlantic coastal states through the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC).
