2015 Striped Bass Trophy Season Regulations: The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's Striped Bass Technical Committee has approved PRFC's management proposal for the 2015 Spring Trophy Fishery. Regulations for this year's fishery will include a 1 fish/person/day catch limit. The fish must be between 28-36 inches or greater than 40 inches. Rt. 301 Bridge downriver to the mouth of the Potomac River. The season will be open from 5 a.m. Saturday, April 18th through May 15th.
Female Crab Harvest Limit: The Potomac River Fisheries Commission (PRFC) enabled ORDER #2015-08 FEMALE CRAB HARVEST LIMIT at its March 6, 2015 meeting, stipulating that it shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch, or attempt to take or catch more than twelve (12) bushels of female crabs per day from April 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015 in the Potomac River. The Potomac River Fisheries Commission coordinates regulations with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, (DGIF) and with the other Atlantic coastal states through the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC).
