Crab Advisory Committee Meeting

The Potomac River Crab Advisory Committee, which is comprised of private citizens and industry representatives, will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in the John T. Parran Hearing Room in the PRFC Office, Colonial Beach, Virginia. Items on the agenda will include, but may not be limits to: an update of the 2015 crab harvest, a recap of the June 11th Commission meeting, review of the 2014-2015 fishery performance, a report of the Chesapeake Bay Stock Assessment (CBSAC), a discussion on the 2015/2016 crab management responses (July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016), a discussion on crab pot transfers to family members, a preview of items for the upcoming Commission meeting in September. Any recommendations developed by this committee will be forwarded to the Potomac River Fisheries Commission for consideration prior to implementation. The next Commission meeting is scheduled for September 10, 2015. These meetings are open to the public and all interested persons are invited to attend. The Potomac River Fisheries Commission coordinates regulations with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, (DGIF) and with the other Atlantic coastal states through the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC).
