Oyster/Clam Advisory Committee Meeting

The Potomac River Oyster/Clam Advisory Committee, which is comprised of private citizens and industry representatives, will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 in the John T. Parran Hearing Room of the PRFC building, Colonial Beach, Virginia.

Items on the agenda will include, but may not be limited to: a recap of the June 11th Commission meeting, updates on the Oyster Management Reserve Program and the Rotational Natural Oyster Harvest Plan, discuss an Order to open Jones Shore to hand scrapes based off of the plan adopted by the Commission at its March 6th meeting and a review of items for the upcoming Commission meeting in September.

Any recommendations developed by this committee will be forwarded to the Potomac River Fisheries Commission for consideration prior to implementation. The next Commission meeting is scheduled for September 10, 2015.

The Potomac River Fisheries Commission coordinates regulations with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, (DGIF) and with the other Atlantic coastal states through the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC).
