Important Commercial Gill Net License Early Relocation Opportunity (Stand Fee Waived During This Period)

Between September 16 to October 16, 2025, the Commission has announced it will be waiving the $40/stand fee if you come into the office and move your gill net during the above stated period. Conditions include:

  1. You must call the office before heading to the office, to ensure that staff will be available to chart the stand relocation.
  2. You will be required to sign a Gill Net Relocation Form in the office to complete the relocation.
  3. The waiver does not apply to any transfers of licenses. As a reminder, transfers of gill nets to another person can only be done outside of the gill net season or prior to renewing the gill net.
  4. The waiver only applies to gill nets. Fees for moving pound net and fyke net stands will still be in place.

If you do not call the office ahead of time to ensure there is someone available, you may be asked to come back another day to move the location.

Note: This is NOT a renewal of your licenses, and you will still need to renew your license(s) during the normal renewal period beginning November 1. Renewal applications for gill nets will be mailed out the last week of October.
